The much anticipated Tim Burton’s Masterclass will be postponed. The book signing and meet and greet with Tim Burton has been cancelled.
Tim Burton will be sending us the video message regarding this later and we will be sharing it with you once we receive it.
Tim Burton’s Masterclass:
Our drive to fulfill the fans and bring Malaysia forward as a high-demand destination for outstanding world-class events motivated us to undergo planning for alternative actions to execute this highly-anticipated masterclass. Thus, after spending several late hours bringing our ideas to life, and coordinating with Tim Burton’s schedule, we are thrilled to announce that the ‘Tim Burton’s Masterclass’ will be hosted virtually on 14 April 2023 (Friday) - more details will be provided in the next few weeks!
The idea of hosting Tim Burton’s Masterclass virtually will not only allow ample time for those planning to buy tickets but also makes it more accessible for those living outside of Kuala Lumpur to e-meet the legendary filmmaker himself.
VIP Ticket Holders: Those who have purchased a VIP ticket will get a complimentary ticket to the virtual masterclass together with an 10 minute meet and greet session with Tim Burton himself exclusively for VIP ticket holders only prior to the masterclass as well as special merchandise item. VIP ticket holders will be able to collect their ‘The Art of Tim Burton’ book and merchandise at the pop-up museum and exhibition venue from 21 March 2023 onwards.
Additionally, as a token of appreciation to those who have showered him with love and support, Tim Burton will be sending personalised autographs to us for all the VIP ticket holders which can be collected on a later date at the pop-up museum, and alternatively for those fans from outside Kuala Lumpur - full details will be informed to the VIP ticket holders via email.

The World of Tim Burton pop-up museum and exhibition remains unchanged and will be available to the public this 21 March to 30 July 2023. Prepare to be immersed with over 500 drawings, paintings, photographs, sketchbooks, moving-image works, and sculptural installations focusing on the recurrent visual themes and motifs that resonate in the distinctive characters and worlds found in Burton’s art and films, such as Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, the recent hit TV series Wednesday, and many other unreleased characters and drawings.
We are excited to showcase the tremendous efforts that our team and organizing parties have made to execute the event. We hope you will take this opportunity to witness this world-class standard pop-up museum while it is available in Kuala Lumpur, which is the first and the only stop for Southeast Asia, and also the last stop for Asia.

Dear Toybox Projects,
We are devastated to share this news with you, but we have received news that Mr. Tim Burton will no longer be able to travel to Kuala Lumpur due to Covid-related illness. We know this will come as an enormous disappointment to those who had hoped to catch a glimpse of him at the opening of The World of Tim Burton, however, the health of Mr. Burton is our top priority. We are thrilled, however, that the exhibition looks wonderful and know that his fans will understand and be grateful for the opportunity to view the artworks and be immersed in his world.
We sincerely apologize for the late cancellation, and though the in-person events will not take place as we had originally planned, we are interested in exploring virtual options to meet commitments to your team and those who have worked tirelessly to bring this exhibition to Malaysia.
My immense thanks to you and the media outlets and sponsors for your understanding and support. Please stay safe safe and keep those still suffering with Covid in your thoughts.
